How to convert grams to tablespoons
tablespoons = grams ÷ grams per tablespoon
There are 16 tablespoons in a US cup, so an ingredient’s weight per tablespoon is its weight per cup divided by 16. The chart below lists it for all 20 ingredients, plus common amounts.
Leveling a tablespoon
Spoon measurements in recipes are always level, not heaped. Overfill the spoon, then sweep it flat with the back of a knife. A heaped tablespoon of flour can weigh much more than a level one.
Very small amounts
For leavening, salt and spices, recipes stay in teaspoons because the amounts are tiny and a kitchen scale isn’t precise below a gram or two. Use measuring spoons for those, and grams for the main ingredients.
